Tito’s La Especial History

The dream of building and running his own restaurant came true in 1983 when Don Tito opened his first “Tito’s La Especial” in Santa Ana, California. Tito wanted to make his restaurant a family atmosphere. He wanted people to feel as if they were coming to his home to eat Mexican cuisine. All the recipes of the menu have been passed down from one generation to another within his family. The specialty of the house are the famous Tacos Al Vapor (which are a soft, steamed, marinated taco), the original being that of shredded beef. Tito’s La Especial has been recognized by the OC Register as a top 10 Taqueria in all of Orange County and #51 among all different types of restaurants in the OC. Don Tito takes pride that his restaurant continues to be a family business in which his kids are also a part of his dream.
